Reusing Containers

Surprisingly a lot of craft supplies come in plastic bags that after opening no longer can be used to store the original item.
For this post I thought I would show how our family reuses containers from take out to store bought dry goods to store art and craft supplies thus solving the problem.
We also reuse our containers to send snacks to school and to make first aid kit boxes.
Our family primarily uses see through containers this helps identify the items stored for easy use and clean up.
Does your family have some great reusing ideas for take out containers?
I would love to hear from you.

Earth Day Clean Up

Happy Earth Day!
We celebrated by taking a stroll around our neighborhood and picking up litter. Thank goodness there is not much in our neighborhood since we have neighbors that are diligent about picking up litter and making sure to not litter themselves.
The girls had a good time helping pick up and felt proud of their contribution to keep our neighborhood clean. We also made a little game out of it and it became a treasure hunt along the way.

M and E have grown to be very much a part of our "Green " efforts and just as we instilled family values we instilled in them the importance to do their parts towards being eco conscious. I suppose since they don't any other way than being earth conscious they don't really complain on the extra efforts that go into the many processes in our home.I am in no way near as "green" as I wish I could be but we try our best and hope that every year we can adapt more ways to be "green".

Fall Leaves

Saturday our whole neighborhood was out enjoying a rare sunny and warm November 1st.All the men worked on raking or mulching their leaves. The women chatted and watched as the kids played in piles and piles of leaves on each front yard.I can no longer feel the magic of laying in a pile of leave. All I can think is dirt and more dirt.M and E can still feel the magic and I hope for many years more too.
A pile of leaves is a fort, clouds, snowfalls and a barrel of laughs.
